I've been trying to set up the Rubric plug-in to generate my gradebook entries. While I am having some success, the learning curve is significant and I have the ominous feeling that if I screw up and enter grades using a faulty rubric there will be no correcting it. I am teaching a skills course (drawing and painting) which has no quizzes or other grades from an automated step so all of my homework and classwork activities are offline activities.
Over the past year or so I've developed a fairly stable Open Office (ODS format) spreadsheet for recording and calculating grades. Since my Moodle Rubric grading system is not yet stable enough, I am still using the spreadsheet then copying grade elements from the spreadsheet into the Moodle rubric. I want to use the Moodle gradebook so that students can lookup their grades and comments, however, the process of creating the spreadsheet then copying into the rubric columns is somewhat tedious and I'm not yet confident enough that I've got the rubric right to just jump in and use it alone for entering all grades. Even when I get the rubric "right" I'm afraid that I won't be able to produce reports in the format my school requires or that I won't be able to adjust the rubric based gradesheet well enough.
All that said, I would like to be able to export from my ODS spreadsheets into Moodle gradebook as my grade entry mechanism. Is this possible, if so how? or where can I find documentation as to how to do this?
Is there a way to import spreadsheet as source for gradebook
