I am using 1.8.4. I just tried adding a comment and leaving it at 0 and that worked. I guess the trick is to add a comment. It must be the only way that Moodle knows that it was graded. So even if there is no comment that the teacher wants to put it works if they just put (.) there. Thanks for the site address for bugs.
