If you enter the course "Test Calculated Questions" at
http://kaipe.com.scorpionshops.com/
you will have a chance to test the new question type Calculated, which I am developing right now.
This question type offers a new way to give the students individual questions on quizes as the question text contains wild-cards that are substituted with values from a dataset, which is randomly picked when the quiz starts. When the quiz attempt finnishes, the correct answers are calculated on the fly and the questions are thereafter graded as if they were numerical questions.

I still have not constructed any editing tools for this type of question so you will only be able to try taking the quizes. If there is anyone out there who can help with the icon image I'd be grateful. I imagine it will look somewhat simular to the numerical icon icon - numerical questions but with the "1 2" substituted with something else, perhaps "x+y" , "f(x,y)" ,"y=x+y" , "y=f(x,y)" or maybe "####". (I believe #### is what you get whenever you construct a calculated field in Excel.)
