Multi-part questions

Multi-part questions

Hello Moodlers,

I'm wondering if anybody has suggestions as to how best handle multi-part questions, such as the following in which there is a text section followed by 3 related questions. It seems like the only option is to create 3 separate items, with each repeating the same text section...or else to put the text section in the first question only and make sure the 2 subsequent questions follow immediately in a quiz (limiting any randomizing or shuffling capabilities). Are there any other methods that people have tried?

Thanks, Sue

The program involves several months of boot camp military style basic training with very strict discipline. Admission to the program is voluntary. According to a prison spokesman, Those who complete boot camp  are less likely to return to prison than other inmates.

The treatment group is ___________________________

True or False: The prison spokesmans comparison is based on an observational study

True or False: The data show that bootcamp worked.

Or, provide the text as a "description" type of question (which in fact is not really a question, but... a description wink), followed by the three questions (needless to say, the shuffling of questions should be off)

Hope this helpssmile,

The question type Embedded (Cloze) can be used if you embedd multichoice answers with the alternatives 'true' and 'false'.

In the future there will be a better solution as I have plans to introduce a new question type "Quiz Section", with which it will be possible to group a number of questions together and thereafter apply certain rules (like grading, order, layout) for the specified section.

Excellent, the embedded question does the trick! Thanks for the other suggestions as well.
