I am John Edmiston, my website is www.aibi.ph and the moodle directory is www.aibi.ph/moodle/
I changed the admin login from "admin" to my own name and password. Since then I have not been able to get in to make alterations and just get "you need to be an admin user" message.
I thought i set myself as the admin. when id di the above cahnges. When I check phpMyadoim the adin is set as usre 1 which is what my name and passowrd are set as. But it does not work. I am now locked out of moodle (at the admin level).
Is there a way that I can use phpmyadmin (or anything else) to get myself out of this mess?
This is quite urgent.
Thank you,
John (johned@aibi.ph)
Check the table "mdl_user" in phpmyadmin.
The first account should be admin (id=1 and also be set to username admin). Copy and paste a password you know from another user into admin's passwd field.
Try to login as admin with the copied password.
Possibly the guest account has password 'guest' but I'm not sure.

(who was fantastically stupid when removing admin password from db to solve a problem - which only made it worse)
