I bet the reason you could see it and your students could not is the image was probably linked to your own hard drive example: c://image/etc
The way I add an image to a GIFT upload is to put it in a folder by uploading it.
then I simply put the html link in the questions.
For example I needed a weird Greek letter "N" in one of my sentences, and there was no html asci equivalent, so I made it into an image and simply put:
Greek word aret<img src="../questionimages/greekn.jpg" height="10" width="8" /> when uploaded it worked great.
