I'm in!!! It's Working!!!

So far so good, I am about to enter the site name...

I decided to check the graphical interface for Apache.

In Red Hat that is; click on the Hat (Windows would be the start menu) --> System Settings--> Server Settings--> Httpd

When it was up I looked for any trace of the directory that I had added for Moodle in  httpd.conf, ...nothing.

On the Virtual hosts tab I clicked [Edit Default Settings]

Under Site configuration I added index.php

Under Directories I added /usr/moodle and edited it to match the settings in the step by step Moodle On Redhat Instructions. (I had added the correct info by hand previously)

I left the options set to the default- everything checked but MultiViews

I left the individual Allow and Deny settings alone.

I checked the box to allow .htaccess to override.

I OK'd and Yes'd my way out and went to look at httpd.conf

The moodle directory info was still not there, but several newdirectories, including /var/www/html and /ftp were, so I copied my original info from the httpd.conf.bak file onto the end of this one, saved, closed and started Moodle.

AND IT WORKED.

Now, can anyone tell me why?

Thanks -Erin
