Where to find glossary file on server

Hi all, this is actually a 2 piece question:

1. I'd like to know the location on my server of a glossary I created with Moodle 1.9. The glossary name (if this is relevant) is called "Test"

2. The reason I want to find the file is to see if it's possible to edit the file manually without having to do it through Moodle's HTML editor. The reason is simple: I imported an english to spanish dictionary I have using the Excel file in the forum which has the macro which converts the file to a usable XML for moodle. However, upon importing I would receive errors for every entry which had an accent mark (for example é) or other special character (for example ñ). This meant I had to use excel's search and replace function to replace the characters with non-accented ones. However, I need to correct this manually and doing so with the refresh rates for each entry would take days if not weeks.

If the file is in XML format, can I just use an XML editor to change and then upload the modified glossary and overwrite?

Thanks in advance to one and all for your help!

Hellmuth.
