Position Summary The Technology Specialist will oversee the
day-to-day operations of the Online Learning Platform for a private distance
learning university. They will Serve as
a user support expert and knowledge agent for the LMS. Train staff and faculty
on the use of technologies. Additionally, work closely with the instructional
design team in development of instructional multimedia for course design. Oversee
completion of Moodle projects. Responsible for providing a high level of
customer service and technical user support for the University.
Responsibilities:

Administration of all of the websites for
the Taft University System. This includes: troubleshooting in coordination with
host support; updating of content; management of DNS entries; management of
domain names, including renewals; management of SSL Certificates, including
purchasing/renewal.

Administration of staff email accounts,
including end-user support.
·
Administration of the Moodle educational
platform. This includes: providing front-line technical support to students and
staff; generation of attendance and activity reports; creation and updating of
courses; creation and distribution of student accounts; management of student
enrolment in courses.

Administration of any and all third party
services with a technical or online component.
·
Administration of all computer hardware
and peripherals, software, networking hardware, and servers in the California
office. This includes being responsible for maintenance, purchasing, security,
and data redundancy.

On-site end-user support for all hardware,
software, and services used in the California office.
·
Remote end-user support for all hardware,
software, and services used in the Colorado office.
·
Front-line technical support for students
on all matters related to the school.
·
Researching, providing vetted reviews of
options to senior management, and ultimately overseeing the purchasing and
implementation of any new technologies and services.
·
Administration of the Voice Over IP Phone
service.
