This is a rare opportunity to join an innovative, multidisciplinary learning design team that creates high quality online courses for lifelong learners.

We are looking for an experienced full stack (PHP) developer to maintain and develop the IT systems and applications that support our work.

Our friendly, intellectually-curious team design, maintain and deliver a portfolio of over 100 online courses across a variety of disciplines. We operate these courses across multiple sites with a sophisticated back-end XML content management system.

You will be the main developer for our Virtual Learning Environments and the bespoke toolset that supports them. We mainly use Moodle and while familiarity with that would be useful, extensive experience of application development is more important.

Your focus will be backend and technical architecture and you will be supported by colleagues with expertise in frontend and sys admin. However, skills in HTML5 document semantics, accessibility or UX would be very welcome.

This role is based in Oxford. Remote working is negotiable, but you must be able to commute to Oxford on a regular basis. The role includes 38 days’ leave (pro rata), inclusive of Bank Holidays and Departmental closure days, pension and excellent benefits.
