Job offered: Moodle Developer

Type: Full-time
Location: Wellington New Zealand

Catalyst IT is part of a global team of skilled open source technologists. We specialise in developing, designing and supporting enterprise grade systems using open source technologies. Our Open Knowledge group works with a diverse client base in both the public and private sectors to deliver a range of learning solutions to both workplaces and educational institutes.

We are looking for an experienced PHP developer to join our  Open Knowledge group in our Wellington office. We’re looking for someone who has a passion for open source, can think innovatively and creatively and like to sink their teeth into challenging (but interesting) client work. You’ll need to be comfortable being client facing and leading technical responses in meetings; top notch communication skills are key.

For this role you will need solid PHP skills and a good understanding of Linux hosting. If you’ve had experience with Git, PostgreSQL, Moodle or  Mahara let us know too.

Any of the extras below are not required, but certainly would be helpful:

  • Front end development

  • Python

  • GoCD

  • Ansible

Previous experience with other open source solutions and applications will be a definite advantage as well so please be sure to note these, or any open source contributions you’ve made.

Being a good employer is really important to us. We pay our staff a fair wage and make sure they have any support they need to grow their skills. We get together every Friday afternoon to relax, share company news from around the world and celebrate the achievements of our staff.

We also offer health insurance, flexible working hours, plenty of training opportunities, and a great central location in the Wellington CBD

Our hiring processes reflect our diversity policy which you can read in full here: https://www.catalyst.net.nz/content/catalyst-diversity-policy
