Bridge is seeking an enthusiastic eLearning instructional design specialist who is passionate about quality and innovative online course design. This part-time instructional designer will help Bridge transform course content into polished eLearning courses. Along with helping Bridge to build and streamline the development of new courses, this part-time position will work closely with Bridge operations and faculty to improve upon existing courses offered by the institution. The position is flexible in its work from home options, both during COVID and post-COVID.


This part-time role entails:

Course Design & Development

  • Work closely with Product Manager and subject matter experts to review course content and suggest instructional design elements according to best practice and Bridge standards
  • Design, develop, and implement eLearning assets for online courses (activities, video, H5P, etc.)
  • Work with subject matter expert and Bridge Web Team to design and produce graphic assets in courses and accompanying materials
  • Work with the Bridge LMS Developer /Admin for LMS integration and course creation in Moodle
  • Ensure alignment of new programs to existing programs
  • Create and maintain a Bridge course brand style guide
  • Create course accompanying documents (syllabi, rubrics, & handouts)
  • Review, test, and edit courses prior to launch
  • Work with copy editor for full review of courses before launch

Maintain and Improve Current Course Catalog

  • Maintain course accompanying documents (such as syllabi, bibliographies/work cited, rubrics, handouts, etc.) and update as needed based off of curricular or course changes
  • Continuously review and request student and faculty feedback to update and improve current courses
  • Maintain course compliance to accreditation requirements in collaboration with the Product Manager
  • Conduct quarterly meetings with key team members to discuss upcoming ongoing course content reviews or edits to maintain a schedule maintenance plan throughout the year
  • Work closely with the Product Manager and International Admissions Advisor to implement changes to the courses in functionality improvements to help encourage trainee participation and completion

Requirements

Required Skills

  • Familiarity with Moodle LMS, HTML, CSS, and PHP
  • Familiarity with eLearning authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate or Rise
  • Instructional design background
  • 2+ years’ experience in online course development and delivery
  • Good communication and deadline management
  • Strong English reading/writing skills
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies
  • Develop project outlines, learning objectives, and storyboards utilizing advanced design/development techniques and tools of adult learning theory
  • Experience applying adult learning theory principles and instructional design techniques to the creation of interactive eLearning and blended learning solutions and MOOCs

Preferred Skills

  • Creativity in online course design and e-learning
  • Experience in language education (English as a second language) preferred
  • Experience with Git/Bitbucket repositories a plus
  • Graphic design experience
  • Video editing experience
  • Degree or formal coursework in Instructional Design preferred


Benefits

This job will be a part-time position offering up to 25 hours per week depending on work load. Compensation amount will be determined based off of experience.
