Job offered: Moodle Course Developer
Type: Contract
Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada
To whom it may concern,
We are a mental health non-profit based out of Toronto, Canada, and are looking for a developer to help us build a 8 week moodle online training course. The curriculum has been developed, we are solely looking for someone to help us adapt it to the moodle platform.
As a developer, it would be expected that the following technical requirements of our training be executed:
- 8 modules of training content
with date-specific material released (participants should only be able to
access week 2 material at the start of week 2, and should only be able to
proceed to the next section of the training after completion the previous
section of the training)
- A forum outlining “General
Information” wherein participants could access general training material such
as the comfort agreement, a web-platform disclaimer, a course road map etc.
- Participants must be able to
upload various media (PDF, Word Documents, audio etc..)
- Participants should be able to
access online materials such as “
- Participants should be able to
be split up into smaller “sub groups” and interact with each other via a chat
function in their smaller groups
- The training should be
delivered with interactive activities such as “click and drag”, “match the
column”, respond to the video using dialogue option 1, dialogue option 2,
dialogue option 3, etc.
- Participants should participate
in assessments at the end of each module, as well as throughout the course
content (i.e. present a section, and then ask “which of the following would be
an appropriate response to this situation”)
- We would like to be able to
provide “quick definitions” pop ups to material found within the slide content
of the material
- The organization needs to be
able to retain complete control over which of the uploaded content can be
downloaded by participants, and which content remains protected
- Participants should be able to
pose technical support questions, and have their questions addressed by
technical support experts
- Facilitators should be able to
track participant participation within the course; time spent logged in,
completion of interactive exercises, etc.
- Participants need to be able to
participate in a “live content” webinar each week, preferably integrated into
the LMS platform.
- Facilitators live on camera as
well as PPT slides displayed to participants
- Participants should be able to
interact throughout this content via webcam, or via chat function
- Ideally; participant should be
able to engage in interactive “click and drag” type activities throughout the
live portion of the training
LMS Developer Requirements
- We are seeking a part-time contract to be able to assist in the development of an online training program to be facilitated by Mood Disorders Association of Ontario (MDAO) employees
- The individual responsible for this would need to be able to work fairly independently, and build a program curriculum as described by the program coordinators
- The individual would be compensated for the development of the program, but the expectation is that the program will be able to be independently facilitated by MDAO staff
- The individual would not retain ownership over the program curriculum materials, or the template; MDAO would anticipate making updates to the content template in the future as needed
Please contact us at the listed e-mail with the subject line - Mental Health Training Project if you are interested in applying and kindly provide estimated rates for this project.
We look forward to hearing from you.
