Overview

The Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator is part application admin, part support specialist with some programming chops to work independently, but the people skills to work as part of a design team (graphic artist, programmer, and subject matter experts) to deliver innovative solutions for online learning. This team member is part of the industry leading nThrive Education team that offers expertise in supporting the platform that keeps our colleagues and customers accessing all of the great courseware, simulations, assessments and games seamlessly. We are seeking a highly dedicated, passionate, and energized professional who enjoys providing outstanding customer support and working in a very fast-pace environment.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, administer, maintain, update and document the Moodle LMS environment
  • Create prototypes to explore design ideas, support usability testing, and incorporate user along with subject matter expert input
  • Provide training and assistance to rollout of new projects utilizing the LMS with clients and colleagues
  • Create courses and modify dashboard reports to meet reporting needs in PHP
  • Very familiar and comfortable with HTML markup and CSS, adhering to W3C specifications and best practices
  • Use image optimization to provide a balance between great quality images and fast site speed
  • Assist with requirements gathering and user interface design
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
  • Works with various company departments to ensure that colleague and client questions and issues are resolved quickly and accurately
  • Performs special projects upon request 
  • Create help guides and how-to’s in the use of the Moodle system for internal end users and managers

Qualifications

  • Skilled with Moodle administration with 3+ years’ experience setting up and configuring users, courses, quizzes, certificates, and other learning activities
  • 2 years’ experience with fielding questions from an online help desk and providing quick responses that get users back on the right track
  • Ability to read, edit, and troubleshoot PHP, t-SQL, HTML5, CSS3 & OO JavaScript
  • A strong sense of ownership and responsibility for code quality that follows best practices
  • A strong passion for learning and adapting to new technologies
  • Working with peers in other groups to define software standards and explore new technologies
  • Experience with providing assistance and interact with customers to provide solutions
  • Experience with SCORM and xAPI is highly desirable
  • Experience working with Business Intelligence tools, such as Tableau and PowerBI, to create and modify analytic packages around system and content usage
  • Experience with iOS, iBooks, Android, and other interactive media/mobile platforms and programming
  • Experience in lieu of degree or degree in lieu of experience

 

Preferred Skills

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science
