The European Commission for the
Control of Foot and Mouth Disease, a commission of the Food and Agriculture
Organisation of the United Nations seeks a learning technologist to support a
rapidly growing e-learning programme, providing multi-lingual specialised
training to veterinarians across Europe and globally.
The learning technologist will
assist in the development and delivery of e-learning courses and resources in
collaboration with EuFMD’s subject experts. The learning technologist will
provide technical and pedagogical support to management of the EuFMD virtual
learning environment (Moodle based), liase with academic partners through which
the platform and courses are delivered, and advise on future e-learning strategy.
Skills and experience
Essential
·
Professional
qualification in learning technology related field, or substantial relevant
experience.
·
At least 2
year’s experience managing and developing a virtual learning environment, preferably
Moodle based.
·
Enthusiasm
to seek new and innovative solutions to training challenges and promote creativity in the application of
learning technologies.
·
Experience
of working with subject experts to:
o
advise on
appropriate e-learning solutions
o
develop
online learning courses and resources
o
provide training
to subject experts on use of e-learning technologies
·
Experience
with e-learning authoring tools particularly:
o
Adobe
Captivate or similar
o
HTML, CSS,
Javascript and media applications
·
Experience
of project management of e-learning course delivery, able to work on own
initiative to meet tight deadlines
·
Excellent
proficiency in English language, strong written and verbal communication
skills.
Desirable
·
Experience
of developing e-learning solutions for international audiences, including design
of online courses for translation into multiple languages
·
Experience
of the use of webinars as part of online training courses
·
Experience
in graphic design and video editing
·
Experience
of working in an international environment, or in organisations working on
animal health, livestock production or food security
·
Proficiency
in other United Nations languages (French, Russian or Arabic in particular)
