Web Application Developer

£25,600 – £29,688 per annum

 

Burton and South Derbyshire College has grown a reputation for developing innovative solutions for both internal users and external bodies working with Moodle and other open source platforms.  We are now looking for a dynamic PHP developer who would relish the challenge of continuing this journey.

 

Working within the IT Services department this post has a wide ranging influence across all areas of the business, developing and supporting the college’s web services.  Your communication skills must therefore match your IT experience and knowledge, as this role is customer focused.

 

An excellent knowledge of web technologies including PHP, HTML, JavaScript, CSS and XML are essential.  Previous experience of managing and developing Moodle or similar VLE packages is also desired, together with a working knowledge of Apache, IIS and MySQL understanding.

 

You will hold a related degree, or have relevant experience within the workplace.  A self-motivated, logical thinker, your organisational skills will mean you are able to meet deadlines and understand customer’s needs.
