An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic developer to join the Learning and Teaching Applications Group in the Information Services Division (ISD) at University College London. The post holder’s primary role is to provide the technical development and support for our portfolio of e-learning applications which includes but is not limited to Moodle, Mahara, Opinio, Wordpress and Confluence.

A key part of this role will include the installation, configuration, maintenance, development and operation of these services, including 3rd line support, troubleshooting and performance testing.

The role holder will work closely with colleagues from the e-Learning team and with the wider support teams in the Information Services Division to provide 3rd line support, troubleshoot, identify and prioritise development requirements.  This should include the ability to advise on the design of the system architecture and the installation and configuration of the applications to optimise functionality and performance. An understanding of academic and administrative requirements will help translate business requirements into technical specifications and tailor solutions to meet the needs.

Key Requirements

This role will suit applicants with strong experience of working in a LAMP development environment. Experience of gathering and analyses of business requirements service planning and implementation and management of high profile IT services is essential.
