Role
Description: The technical project manager will drive and deliver differentiated
technology solutions that overcome real business challenges and result in
measureable ROI. The projects include upgrading and maintaining the company’s existing
software platform, converting the company’s existing Flash modules into HTML5
format and UX redesign, as well as creating a new generation of algorithmic
homework questions. This person essentially combines the role of a project manager,
programmer and quality assurance analyst.
Responsibilities
will include, but not be limited to:
- Plan, manage and communicate the progress of
projects, achieving project milestones and maintaining momentum of the
project.
- Lead multi-disciplinary and often remote
project teams through all phases of the project cycle, providing coaching,
problem solving and motivation.
- Report and manage relationships and
expectations of various stakeholders.
- Ensure that process knowledge and best
practices are fully explained and adopted by teams.
- Help the team prioritize the latest set of
technical issues and lead the team in identifying the problem at the root
of one or several technical issues.
- Proactively employ mitigation strategies for
technical risks.
- Coordinate systems and applications upgrades and
expansions accurately without adversely affecting systems availability.
- Have the ability to prepare meaningful,
accurate and concise reports
- Have the ability to clearly communicate
technical concepts and their impacts to non-technical audiences.
Qualifications:
·
5+ years’ experience in system/software solution
development and delivery
·
5+ years’ experience in project management
·
Working knowledge in PHP, JavaScript, HTML5 and
MySQL
·
Knowledge of user interface design (HTML, JavaScript,
CSS, XML)
·
Knowledge of Moodle, Blackboard or other Learning
Management Systems is a definite asset
·
Knowledge of Linux and
Apache is an asset
·
Excellent written and
verbal communication skills
·
Self-motivated and very
creative
·
Work well independently as
well as in a cross-functional team environment
