Job offered: Learning Technologist (VLE Support)

The Information and Learning Technology (ILT) Team is seeking to transform learning at the College by integrating the use of appropriate IT tools into teaching and by making materials, resources and interactive applications available to students online.

We require someone to join our team to administer and develop the configuration of our online learning platform or VLE (currently moodle).  So you will need experience of supporting or implementing an online learning platform, or VLE (ideally moodle) in an FE or other educational context.

Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, you should have experience of delivering web services (using e.g. IIS, PHP, MySql).  You should also be able to use some Web Design software (e.g. Dreamweaver, CCS, Flash) and use software like Multimedia tools, Web 2.0 technologies, or the Microsoft Office suite to produce Web-delivered resources.  You will be capable of supporting and assisting teaching staff to create and use online resources, and be confident in proving support and help to users at an appropriate level, as well as being able to work as part of a team.
