Leo Cussen Centre for Law is a leading education and training organisation providing practical legal training to law graduates as the pathway to admission to the legal profession in Australia and the provision of continuing professional development programs to practising lawyers.

As an early adopter of online technology in delivering practical legal training, the Centre is reviewing the design and delivery of the online Practical Training Course (PTC) with the aim of extending and deepening the learning experience and learning outcomes of its students. The online PTC is a blended learning program using both online technology (Moodle) and instructor led (face to face) activities.

We’re seeking an innovative and experienced Instructional Designer to work with our fantastic teaching team to create interactive and engaging top quality training material for our students.

Key Responsibilities include;
  • Advice and assistance in use of educational technologies to achieve learning outcomes including e learning software
  • Review of current design and delivery of the program by reference to learning outcomes and competency standards
  • Design and development of materials, resources and assessments focusing on interactivity
  • Support to teaching team

The ideal candidate will have;

  • 4+ years experience in instructional design or related field –
    eLearning experience essential
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in related discipline e.g. Instructional Design, Training, Education
  • Experience with Moodle LMS, Certificate IV TAA and AQTF knowledge highly regarded
  • Thorough knowledge of adult learning principles
  • Ability and experience in designing for both online and face to face learning
  • Strong MS Office suite skills
  • Enthusiasm, strong communication and teamwork skills, and great time management skills

The ideal candidate will have e-Learning focused experience, have experience in Training, Education or Learning and Development and an understanding of the legal profession . They must also possess strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines.
This person will also be creative and committed to development of our high quality training program.
