Job offered: Learning Technologist

Location: Napier, New Zealand

We are looking for an experienced and creative Learning Technologist to provide instructional design and course development for our teaching and learning projects, as well as deliver staff development in eLearning, education technology and 21st century teaching and learning.

This includes providing advice to staff on course design and collaborating with staff in the development of learning resources for online and blended delivery.

You will also assist staff to prepare and load course materials and provide support and introductory training for users of the Learning Management System.

The ideal applicant will have:

• Demonstrated experience in development of learning resources.
• Practical experience in or knowledge of the use of a Learning Management System (Moodle or Blackboard) in a teaching and learning environment.
• Extensive knowledge and experience of instructional design principles and practices;
• Experience in staff development for e-learning and/or education technology and/or 21st Century Learning
• Knowledge of emerging pedagogies
• An understanding of, and skill in, applying adult learning and training principles;
• Effective interpersonal communication skills for dealing with diverse audiences, including faculty, students, technologists, management and other staff
• Understanding of and commitment to quality in education,
• A qualification at graduate level.
