At this very exciting time in our history, with unprecedented market drivers sparking change throughout the healthcare industry, we are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer Manager to join our team of respected professionals.

Summary

 The successful candidate will provide subject matter expertise in the infrastructure of our internal and external Learning Management System, Precyse University, and share responsibility in design, maintenance and support of all projects and aspects of this system including outsourced hosting programs, network infrastructure, and reporting.

 This senior level role is a part of a highly technical team and requires in-depth knowledge of infrastructure technologies. Superior skills and expertise with Moodle, LMS, and PHP language is required.

 Responsibilities:

 IT Processes

  • Execute service provider delivery services for the following IT processes according to policy and procedures:
    • Network Management
    • System Availability
    • Disaster Recovery
    • Change & Release Management
    • Asset Management
    • Production systems support
  • Responsible for service request execution, status, documentation, and scheduling.
  • Provides recommendations regarding any configuration, problem or change that impact IT services or infrastructure, support root cause analysis.
  • Installation, testing and localized modifications of Moodle plugins and updates.
  • Troubleshoot and recommend solutions including optimizing performance.

 Infrastructure

  • Provide support and utilize design expertise to maintain and enhance technical infrastructure.
  • Maintain IT security in accordance with security standards P/P’s.
  • Assist in defining security standards P/P’s.
  • Assist in Disaster Recovery planning and testing.
  • Provide Tier 3 and emergency support to all production systems.
  • Work special projects to completion (network moves, infrastructure changes, etc.)
  • Integrate user registration, merchant services, and account management systems into Moodle/LMS.

 General

  • Manage and support outsourced applications.
  • Interact with internal personnel to resolve issues and provide knowledge transfer to other staff.
  • Operate in a cooperative environment among a team of highly diverse specialists.
  • Ability to demonstrate open and honest communication in a variety of settings.
  • Demonstrated initiative and energy to go beyond minimum requirements of effort and activity.
  • Ability to formulate resolutions and prioritize issues to meet  specific departmental objectives and tasks.
  • Candidate should be able to communicate effectively and present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Will manage a team of technical and non-technical professionals in the maintenance, management, and enhancements of various systems and applications

Requirements

  •  At least 7-10 years experience with network and infrastructure design and support in a 24 x 7 environment
  • Superior skills and experience with Moodle and other Learning Management Systems
  • Significant experience with Linux and MS Windows AD and operating systems
  • Solid understanding of networking infrastructure and protocols
  • Solid experience with security infrastructure
  • Strong background in web service and application outsourced hosting
  • Experience with:  Apache, MySQL, PHP
  • Strong background in vendor management
  • Monitoring and other systems management tools experience preferred
  • Strong background in supporting back office and reporting applications (Exchange, SQL databases, file and other servers)
  • Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in Information Services or related field preferred but not required
  • Ability to design and/or manage the development of effective and clean UI deployments
  • Understanding of learner usage and accessibility features
