Brief Overview

Boston Reed, a division of Ascend Learning, LLC (“Ascend”), provides affordable allied healthcare training in partnership with schools and colleges throughout California and the US. Most of our courses are designed for busy adults, with classes meeting two nights per week or on weekends.

The primary mission of the LMS Administrator is to administer daily Learning Management System (LMS) needs and end-user support by analyzing requirements; providing SME-level support; recommending system controls and protocols. Assists with courseware deployment to live service LMS, and with user issues. The position is full time Monday –Friday, may require non-traditional hours.

QUALIFICATIONS - SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

•Front-end administration and troubleshooting on a technology-based learning platform (Moodle Learning Management System required).

•Publishing courseware using e-learning standards such as SCORM and AICC.

•Two or more years’ experience providing logistical support and LMS administration.

•Excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively via telephone and e-mail with customers and peers in varying roles, including proficiency with MSOffice Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook).

•Detail orientated with excellent organization skills. System data entry accuracy a must.

•Demonstrated ability to analyze information, document conclusions, and develop recommendations.

•Must exercise excellent analytical, troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.

•Quick learner, self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision.

Must be customer focused, have a sense of humor, be a team player, and able to multi-task

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•Responsible for resolving LMS Help Desk tickets; ensure problem ownership and promote end-user satisfaction.

•Collaborates with the LMS Management team to develop policies, guidelines, and best practices for improvement of processes related to work responsibilities.

•Performs quality assurance checks on system and tests content to monitor proper functionality and communication with the LMS; identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves problems with course design, and LMS front-end configuration.

•Supports use of the LMS through close working relationships established with program content developers/providers, and users (internal and external).

•Serve as an LMS Subject Matter Expert and representative at appropriate meetings, and on LMS user calls.

•Observes systems operations to identify problems in workflow, procedures, and available functionality, and makes recommendations based on analysis of observations.

•Assures efficient and effective operation of the learning management system to meet client’s needs.

•Address technical bugs and other system issues from identification through resolution.

•Performs administrative tasks including LMS course and session setups, scheduling, enrollment, reporting, entering and maintaining training records.

•Provides technical assistance in incident management for major LMS outages or issues with major impact to the business (SOR, SEV1, and maintenance).
