About the Job

We are looking for developers with:

  • Excellent PHP skills (including object-oriented coding)
  • Experience with one or more databases (ideally postgres, mysql, mssql and oracle)
  • A good working knowledge of HTML/CSS and Javascript (ideally jQuery)
  • A good understanding of source control systems (ideally GIT)
  • A good understanding of common web application security issues
  • Experience of code testing, continuous integration and code review
  • Confidence to work independently or in a team to support the Totara distribution on behalf of clients and partners
  • Experience with Moodle an advantage
  • Projects will include integration of Mozilla's Open Badges into Moodle, a new report builder for Moodle and more.

General

  • The ability to work with some direction and be prepared to switch context/projects if and when required
  • A good level of written communication
  • The confidence and ability to discuss requirements with partners and colleagues
  • The confidence and knowledge to provide alternative solutions where a different approach may be cheaper/faster/better
  • A passion for open source approaches to software creation
  • The wisdom to ask for help when needed!
