Job Description

The person in this position will be responsible for maintaining the Moodle Learning Management system for several different sites serving tens of thousands of users. We have customized the base Moodle software. We are looking for someone to primarily maintain and modify the Moodle software system. We currently outsource server maintenance, but the candidate should have a good working knowledge of Linux.

A second significant aspect of the job would be supporting the Moodle system users.

Finally, this position will be responsible for maintaining other PHP based web applications.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a computer science related field OR Bachelor's with 12 credits in IT and one year of related experience or equivalent related education and experience.
-PHP programming experience (1-2 years)
-Experience must demonstrate skills with MySQL and using PHP software to access databases.
-Experience must demonstrate knowledge in creating and modifying HTML pages.
-Basic experience with the LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySql, PHP) environment.

Preferred Qualifications

-Experience managing Moodle (or other LMS) systems
-Experience using (as administrator, teacher, learner) Learning Management Systems (esp. Moodle)
-.NET programming experience
-Knowledge and experience writing and modifying javascript.

Salary

Minimum $33,255; commensurate with qualifications
