Any developments on these? It really would be FANTASTIC if posts to blogs and discussions in moodle could be sent via different means of communication. Just a basic - email in - of new posts would be a very friendly interface for many non-techies.

Using Blog as a Learning Log

Anyone used Moodle Blogs as a way to implement a Learning Log - that is, a record of a learner's reflections on their learning? I am considering doing so, and would want visibility of others' blogs to be within courses rather than site-wide.

Thoughts?

Hi Klaus,

Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately, there aren't any plans to do this at present. The reason is that within our system we have extended the html editor so that you can attach images and other files directly there (within the editor's 'add image' dialog) for any part of moodle.

(Mind you, this doesn't always work very well. But.)

Not to say that we couldn't add the feature anyway, of course - but we haven't yet had enough demand internally to get it onto a development schedule.

Same here, i have also installed GISMO block. It is shown in course page but not able to retrieve data. give error related with Java applet.

Can anybody suggest how to use gismo, create db related with Gismo end all.

Same problem here, can embed an youtube video on a webside but not in a forum or blog.

Tried on demo.moodle.org for forum, same problem.

The Enable YouTube link filter, has no impact on the problem.

Any clues?

The OU blog module looks great and the functionality for visibility is perfect for us. THe only thing missing is the ability to attach files, esp. jpgs. Are there any plans to implement that? Many thanks, Klaus

Embeded videos in Blog

Hi

I try to cut and paste some embed code for youtube videos, or vimeo videos in the moodle Blog, in one server it work right showing the video.

In the test server the video does not appear the object tag is completely removed even having the Security>site Policies > Allow EMBED and OBJECT tags option allowed.

How can i discover what configuration affects the exibition of embeded videos ?

Hi Sam, Valarie,

We (Uni of Waikato) have upgraded production to 1.96 and have seen no issues with OU Blog. It probably isn't getting used much at the moment though as we have just come to the end of our teaching year.
