Moodle in English -> General help Mail received corrupted. "quoted-printable" problem with Microsoft smtp systems ==> Solution: base64

by Thierry Nabeth -

Hello,

I just wanted to report a problem and the solution that I had when using Moodle with Microsoft email systems.

The email sent when posting in the forum appeared to be corrupted.

Similar problem happening in a non-moodle system is described here: http://mantis.tincan.co.uk/view.php?id=2275

There seems to be a but with Windows email systems not able to correctly deal with quoted-printable encoding.

My solution: I was able to fix this problem by changing the default html email encoding from "quoted-printable" to "base64" in lib/moodlelib.php

Dear Randy,

I posted something about this in the general bulletin board

Moodle in English -> Wiki Bug. Outdated version of markdown.php. (bug appear with DFWiki)

by Thierry Nabeth -

I already posted an information of this bug in the general moddle forum.

http://moodle.org/mod/forum/user.php?id=103936&course=5

The problem may happen when you install the lastest version of DFWiki with PHP >= 5.1.1 .

This has something to do with the outdated library markdown.php . To solve the problem, just get the latest version of markdown.php .

(well, it worked for me !)

Moodle in English -> General help Bug. Outdated version of markdown.php. (bug appear with DFWiki)

by Thierry Nabeth -

Hello,

After having upgraded php to Php 5.1.2 an to the lastest version of DFWiki, I had a problem with the function function _DoCodeBlocks() of markdown.php.

Generating an error: Unknown modifier .

I have installed my version of Moodle beginning of January.

I noticed that a recent version of markdown.php had corrected an error.

1.0.1c (9 Dec 2005)

  • Fixed a problem occurring with PHP 5.1.1 due to a small change to strings variable replacement behaviour in this version.

I therefore installed this new version of markdown.php, and it solved my problem.

Maybe it could be a good idea to update moodle with this most recent version of the library.

Best regards.
