After installing 1.8 nobody can log on

After installing 1.8 nobody can log on

I have upgraded from 1.7 to 1.8 and after Moodle reported success of the upgrade nobody can then log in.  I think I have followed all the instructions but does anybody have any idea of a solution.

I had, fortunately, made a backup so was able to restore version 1.7

If users are unable to login following an upgrade to 1.8 then most likely their account authentication method requires enabling. Please see the Multi-authentication section in the upgrading to 1.8 documentation for further information.
