Cloze - The number "0" in Shortanswer

Cloze - The number "0" in Shortanswer

I have these qestions in an embedded question (cloze):

f(1) = {:SHORTANSWER:=0}

f(-2) = {:SHORTANSWER:=3}

However the number "0" (as a letter) is giving me odd behaviour when I submit my answers.

The green $$\surd$$ doesn't show and I also receive some penalties.

Any workaround?

Besides how do I put the signs "{" and "}" into my shortanswer questions without messing with the syntax- like "{-2,1,5}"?

Best regards

Morten

I can answer the last of my problems myself:

If I use the numeric entity "&\#125;" for "}" it works ok.

Solve g(x) = -2       L = {1:SHORTANSWER:={4&\#125;}

However the numeric entity "&\#048;" for "0" does still not work:

f(-1) = {1:SHORTANSWER:=&\#048;}

Making the question NUMERICAL does not help either.

a) A = E1 Ç E5  = {2:SHORTANSWER:%100%{&\#125;#Leere Menge~*#Es gibt keine Elemente in dieser Menge}

does not work in my Cloze quiz! Why?

The missing tick is a bug. I have reported it as MDL-11231. However, I do not see any penalties for this, the answer is considered as totally correct (2/2).

Is it considered "bad taste" to vote for something one has reported as a bug? Or is it just "obvious? (I can think of cases where someone thinks it might be just because his computer is out of balance, but reports it to see if others have a problem.)

I went to vote and saw 0 votes, and wondered why not even you voted.

Hi Jeff,
No question of bad taste here, the bugtracker simply states " You cannot vote for an issue you have reported."wink

Thx, Joseph.

Maybe I was too fast with the penalty issue. I'll give that a second view.

How do you vote for a bug?

I've found a fix for this bug. We'll just have to wait for Tim to commit it.

Fix committed now. Thank you for working it out, and to the people who tested the fix.

Going on holiday was a big mistake, I got over 70 emails from the tracker while I was away, and I am only just starting to work through them. Well, not really, it was a good break, and I am now feeling much more prepared to get things done.
