The new "User Profile Fields" are brilliant! We now much better can describe users by creating new categories (moodle version 1.8 as of today).
How can I use them to enrol a course to a defined user group? It would be elegant, to actively filter (e.g. country > region > sales reps) the current user list instead of typing in all users wanted. That´s always a bunch of work.
So my question is: How can I utilise the User Profile Fields?
What about having a "User filter" on the "Assign roles" page that helps sorting out relevant users??? The parameters could be existing user parameters like country, city, language,.. or the free defined user profile fields (see attached faked screenshot). In addition to that we could use this as static or even dynamic filter, that also allows new students on the platform to be automatically enrolled!
