If anyone can help

My students are unable to upload an image for their profile.

error reads: JPEG not supported on this server

I did up grade the server from NT4 to XP. All profile images before the upgrade work. New images will not upgrade. I am using EasyPHP 1-7

Thanks John

Hi!

Sorry about the last post. blush blush   I forgot to put the link in.

Check out this post regarding how to add "PHP Extensions" in easyPHP v1-7.

I think the extension to see JPEGs is "GD2".

Thanks WP1for the advice concening uploading Profile Images.

("PHP Extensions" in easyPHP v1-7.

I think the extension to see JPEGs is "GD2".)

GD2 allows *.gif to upload and show the image and it allows *.jpg to upload and show a black image.

The previous easyPHP had a GD option but it doesn't seem to exist in the v1-7.

Any other advise on how to upload *.jpg into Profiles would be much appreciated

Yours John

Hi!

Try this,
  • Login as "Admin"
  • Click on the "Configuration" link in the lower part of the left column
  • When you get to the Configuration page click on "Variables".
  • When you get to the Variables page go down until you get to "slasharguments:" and change the setting for "jpg" to another one.
  • Check if this works.

Uploaded files give "File not found"

Thanks for the advice WP1

I was able to solve the black profile image. After I configured GD2 I was able to upload and view *.gif profiles. I am also experimenting with TikiWiki and in that program I could upload and view *.jpg profiles. My solution was to open the Configuration page see that GD2 was selected and save.

It seems that Moodle didn't pick up the GD2 configuration until it was saved in the Moodle Configuration page.

Cheers wide eyes

Hi John ...

I am working to integrate WakkaWiki into my Moodle site. You can download it out here :

http://www.wakkawiki.com/WakkaWiki

my site is here :

http://www.allcritters.com/wiki/wakka.php?wakka=HomePage

I'm still in the development stages so please pardon my dust ... wink

I tried to get TikiWiki to work with my goals and the overhead was simply far too much to have to deal with. WakkaWiki worked perfectly ... installs easy, easy to customize, easy to maintain, and uses PHP, MySQL database.

Give it a try ... It comes "HIGHLY" recommended.
It definitely will make your work a lot easier and happier
