Tinkering with permissions has locked out the site?

I was tinkering with file permissions and I think I may have shot myself in the foot. Now whenever I access the main login page, I get the following error messages and I can't login:

Warning: Unknown(): open(/home/virtual/site460/fst/var/www/html/moodledata/sessions/sess_0bbb83555997e92bd4bb0113e4de2e6e, O_RDWR) failed: Permission denied (13) in Unknown on line 0

Warning: Unknown(): Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (/home/virtual/site460/fst/var/www/html/moodledata/sessions) in Unknown on line 0

Any ideas on how to fix this problem (FAST!) would be appreciated!

Thanks so much for such a speedy reply Martin!! It worked and I can now get through the login again!.

Of course I'm not entirely sure whether I've created some additional problems that I haven't tripped over yet. It brings to mind a question I've actually had for some time: Is there any comprehensive summary of the "permissions" issue available? I'm not comfortable in the base case that I have permissions setup properly to maximize the basic security of the site.

Thanks again // Chris Freeborn
