When the bug is really a bug?

When the bug is really a bug?

Some days ago i thought I have found a bug. So I opened a page in tracker (Moodle MDL-29152), but I was claimed that it is not a bug and everything has been closed at once.

After that, I spent some time more to study the problem.

The problem affects moodle 2 (but not moodle 1.9) and is described in detalis here:
http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=187579

Shortly, people who subscribe a forum receive a mail-code with a lot of class tag but without head section: so graphic view comes lost.

I think that this is a bug because:
- either is a bug the lack of header (my opinion)
- or is a bug to waste space with a lot of class declaration.

But your staff said that it is not a bug.

So I ask your staff to give us some explanation about what we must consider as a bug, so we will continue to help in making a better Moodle but we will not disturb with unwanted advices.

Thanks
Luciano

Seriously I believe this kind of response you got has a non-specific relation to attitudes of solving/closing certain types of bug reports - see http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=180865#p791808

So to get this "won't-fix"-bug fixed you may need to reopen the issue as a new issue with some links to these recent posts in these forums - particularly a link to that post by Ray - http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=187579#p816609 wink
