I’m going to work on implementing a way for students to post anonymously in a Moodle forum. In a general sense, my requirements are similar to what the latest patch in MDL-1071 already provides, but I would like a more versatile and durable solution.
I have also taken note of the Development:Anonymous Users draft, and depending on the amount of work required for that, it could be an option to implement something like the general infrastructure described there.
Before committing to either approach, I’d like to gauge the (developer) community interest in the idea:
- Would a feature like this be eligible for integration in Moodle (if the implementation was sufficiently solid)? Conversely, is it better to aim for a plugin of some kind (e. g. a fork of the forum activity)?
- Is the anonymity infrastructure that’s described in the wiki a subject of ongoing work? If so, who’s working on it? Is there code or further documentation? Or has it been rejected?
- Is anyone else working on this topic?
