Somewhere, either I have a configuration wrong (which I've checked 100 times) or something is being called incorrectly.

Also note, when logging in, I just see the "invalid login" message in the login box, I only see the above when I look in the logs to see what the invalid login error was...

Any idea?  I'm using Moodle 1.4 beta (2004082300)

Thanks a ton,

Well, and update --  I DID get the authentication to work, but I had to install moodle with it's own virtual host.  ie, it used to be:

http://server.com/moodle

but I had to set up:

http://moodle.server.com

and it works, so I am not concerned about fixing it anymore!  I'm curious if anyone else has gotten that error...

Dear Shaw Powers,
I can't login as admin since upgrading to 1.4 but there does not seem to be anyone else having the problem, other than perhaps you Shaw Powers.

I don't know if I have got the same error as you. How do i see my logs if I can't log in any more?

Oh -- my problem is that I couldn't log in as anyone *but* admin...  The external authentication (via pop3 or imap) wasn't working.  Sorry I'mnot more help in your situation.. sad

Dear Shawn Powers
I see. My IMAP is working fine.

We *did* make some changes to the way authentication works. The auth method for any user is now stored in their database record so that method can be used even if the auth method is changed. More significantly it means that you can now always add and use manual users no matter what auth method you are using. This is the beginning of a much more versatile authorisation system.

I am a little bit worried that we may have introduced a problem - so any further problems, please let us know.
