Grade Report: Multi Course Grader Report

Beaux Creations Multi Course Grader Report
Type: Grade Report
Requires: Moodle 1.9
Status: Contributed
Maintainer(s): Barry Oosthuizen

Barry Oosthuizen developed the Multi Course Grader Report as a convenient way to quickly view all grader reports for all courses and also to easily link (by means of hyper-links in course names / student names) to a specific course's Grader Report.

Both the Multi Course Grader Report and Site Wide User Report - based on the documentation information - looks grate and seems to be pretty handy, especially when one wants to discuss the progress and performance of individual learners with them. However, when I select both reports in the grade book, only a blank page is displayed. Can someone please advise, I am using Moodle 1.9.4+ (Build 20090211)

I am also using Moodle 1.9.4+ and a blank page is displayed when I want to use the multi course grader report. When I turn on debugging this error is shown:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function print_grade_page_head() in /var/www/moodle/grade/report/multigrader/index.php on line 57

so the index.php can't find the function. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Hi Matthias,

Thanks for your report, it's very helpful.  You could try tweaking it to use the print_header_simple function (which was probably used in 1.9.4) in your moodle/grade/report/multigrader/index.php file.

Or, you could upgrade to a more recent Moodle version.

Unfortunately I don't have time to maintain the code for old versions.

Cheers,

Barry

Hi,

Thank you for great reporting tool. This must be very helpful.

However we don't need to show all the courses in one page. If this has the option to show/hide option for each courses, it will be completely perfect.

Hi Barry

This tool is great and works a charm. How difficult will it be to add a date (for the assessment result) column?

It would also be very useful if it had a filter to take away all the courses a specific user is not enrolled for (ie after you have clicked on the name of a learner/user.)

And last on the shopping list is, from the previous paragraph, one button to download it all to excel (ie all courses' results with one click).

How possible is the above. Might it be part of what you are working on in the
Grader Report with Frozen and Resizable Columns?

Please let us know.

Jan

Toshimi:  Yes, I have that planned for the future.  It will be a ticklist of categories & courses.

Jan: Thanks for the filter idea, I'll keep that in mind.  Assessment dates will be too complicated to add.  One button to download it all to excel is outside of the scope of what I intended to do with these reports.

The Grader Report with Frozen and Resizable Columns will only be for one course at a time (uses loads of javascript), but yes it will have a instant download button (for Excel/CSV & maybe for PDF)as well as a Printer Friendly download button

Barry: I am helping set up moodle for our department and I have run into an issue of making it easy to print out a report from the gradebook. I have the gradebook set up with objectives first and then exams, homework, etc. It would be nice to have a "Printer Friendly" button and settings allowing you to choose all students and just the objectives to print. I was reading through this forum and this is sounding like what I am looking for but I want to make sure. I would appreciate if you could help in any way with this.

Hi everyone, I have updated my development version of the Multi Course Grader Report which now includes a category/course selector & some other minor fixes. It only works on Moodle 1.9.5 upwards.

If you'd like to try out the new code you can find it here.

I welcome your feedback on how it works for you.

Cheers,

Barry
