We just tried this and found it unusably laggy, plus you need to register with sclipo.com and log in each time (making a Moodle plugin kinda pointless) ... otherwise has promise.

Hi, Martin. Version 1.2 of the Live Web Class plugin is now available. Includes a number of small fixes and improvements, including one related to logging into Sclipo. You should no longer need to log in each time you use the plug-in.

Hi, all. Based on the last time we were in contact, Anil and Pawel were able to get the plug-in working. As for you, Mike we're still at a loss, especially since we've seen lots of other Moodle users creating classes.

I'm going to contact you directly to see if we can get to the bottom of this.

Hi Chris
THE PLUGIN WORKS WELL BUT CAN WE ADD IT AS A MODULE EMBEDDED IN MOODLE ITSELF SO THAT THE REQUIREMENT Internet Connection: Broadband, 1 MB upload and download speed recommendeD CAN BE MINIMISED AND THE MODULE CAN WORK WELL WITHIN CAMPUS FOR THE ELEARNING SITE WITH AUDIO AND VIDEO. SORRY BUT DONT HAVE TO WAIT FOR SCLIPO CONNECTIVITY. INSHORT I NEED A SCLIPO EMBEDDING IN MOODLE WITHOUT ANY EXTERNAL LINK
THANKX FOR U R QUICK SUPPORT

Hi Chris,

I have downloaded and installed successful. While adding as an activity, it shows “Adding a new Sclipo Live Web Class” follows an empty table border displayed. I am using moodle 1.9.5, windows 2000 server, adobe flash 10 and firefox 3.5. I have followed given steps. Can you provide clear steps after installation? What I will do for the said error?

Hi,

I appreciate and am thankful for the moodle plugin but am having a few issues.

1. When I start a webinar, as the teacher, it freezes; camera doesn't activate and the wheel just spins. I've tried it on both Firefox 3.5 and Safari 4.

2. When I try to log in to webinar, as the a student, I get an error message that tells me I can't log in as teacher, which is odd, since I'm trying to log in as a student. Each time I close that error message, the same one continues to pop up.

Any help would be great. I'm on a very tight time line to get this to work. At present I'm using gotomeeting and if I can get Sclipo to work properly, I'd love to upgrade to the paid version so I can record the webinars (and stop using gotomeeting).

Thanks.

Michael Port

Hi Chris,

I have successfully added and install Sclipo to moodle. The problem is when I go to add the Sclipo activity it takes me to a log in/registration screen. If I try and register it tells me I am already registered and if I try and log in I get the following error.

Error: Need to be logged in to Sclipo

I would really appreciate any assistance you can give me.

Kind Regards

Scott Rogers

I'm getting the same:

"FATAL ERROR: Could not connect to Sclipo
Error: Need to be logged in to Sclipo"

error that others are seeing. I've created an account with the Sclipo Web site and even threw a fake course together to connect to.

I downloaded the updated module, but it still prompts me to create a login, etc.  There's no way to pass-through the Moodle logon so everyone doesn't have to create a separate login?

Also, if you close the window and try to re-enter, it says you are already logged in and doesn't give you the opportunity to login with a different ID.

One more problem...I uploaded a PDF and when I tried to view it said there was an error loading the document.

OK, second time I tried the PDF it worked, but it didn't load the Word doc.  I'll keep trying to see if I can come up with a pattern.

Issue 3...when a student enters a course and creates their login, it doesn't take them to their Moodle course but to a generic welcome page.  I had to close the window and go back to Moodle to click into the course again.

Does anyone really monitor these comments? My IT person added the Sclipos download and after adding the curl library info it worked great. We were all really excited and thinking of all the wonderful teaching things that could be done with this program added to Moodle. The next day I got the same problem as Peter. I see

FATAL ERROR: Could not connect to Sclipo

Error: Need to be logged in to Sclipo

I've tried everything that I can think of. Why did the program work well on Friday and not at all on Saturday and after? Also, I have looked all through the Sclipos website and can't find any way to email, phone, or contact anyone there. I am very frustrated and would like to know how the rest of you are doing with Sclipos. Thanks. I definitely need help.
