Rolesdebug.php is a stand-alone script that is handy for debugging problems related to roles and permissions. It can be used by anyone with a basic understanding of Moodle's Roles and capabilities system.

Step-by-step instructions for using the script can be found in the documentation wiki article The rolesdebug.php roles debugging script.

To install the script, simply drop it into your Moodle root directory or any directory under the root directory.

The script is a practical realization of the ideas presented in the documentation wiki article How permissions are calculated.
